Net sales of 691,900 pieces, all whole cattle hides, were reported for delivery in 2010, up noticeably from the previous week and 61% from the prior four-week average. The primary buyers were China (394,800 pieces), South Korea (120,400 pieces), Taiwan (87,100 pieces), Hong Kong (38,800 pieces), Mexico (18,100 pieces), and Thailand (17,400 pieces). Exports of 554,700 pieces were up 31% from the previous week and 15% from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 552,000 pieces—a marketing-year high—were primarily to China (291,500 pieces), South Korea (106,000 pieces), Taiwan (58,100 pieces), Hong Kong (42,900 pieces), and Mexico (17,200 pieces).

Net sales of 181,900 wet blues for delivery in 2010 were up 14% from the previous week and 27% from the prior four-week average. The primary buyers were China (116,600 unsplit), Italy (20,700 unsplit), Vietnam (20,600 unsplit), and Hong Kong (11,000 unsplit). Decreases were reported for Mexico (900 grain splits) and Thailand (300 unsplit). Exports of 142,600 hides were primarily for China (78,200 unsplit), Vietnam (29,400 unsplit), Mexico (7,400 grain splits and 5,400 unsplit), and Thailand (5,700 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 426,800 pounds were for South Korea (382,700 pounds) and Hong Kong (45,000 pounds). Decreases were reported for Indonesia (900 pounds). Exports of 242,000 pounds were to Indonesia (129,000 pounds) and South Korea (113,000 pounds).
