Hides and Skins: Net sales of 463,800 pieces were reported for delivery in 2010, down six percent from the previous week, but up two percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 450,900 pieces were mainly for China (152,700 pieces), South Korea (73,600 pieces), Taiwan (60,500 pieces), Hong Kong (50,100 pieces) and Mexico (32,500 pieces). Exports of 449,900 pieces were down 16 percent from the previous week and six percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 439,700 pieces were primarily to China (179,800 pieces), South Korea (94,200 pieces), Hong Kong (36,700 pieces), Taiwan (33,700 pieces) and Mexico (25,300 pieces). 

Net sales of 102,000 wet blues for delivery in 2010 were up 25 percent from the previous week, but down nine percent from the prior four-week average. The primary buyers were China (63,400 unsplit), Mexico (19,400 unsplit and 8,900 grain splits) and Italy (6,500 unsplit). Exports of 88,000 hides--a marketing-year low--were primarily for China (25,500 unsplit), Italy (14,800 unsplit and 7,500 grain splits), Taiwan (14,000 unsplit) and Thailand (6,300 unsplit). Net sales reductions of splits totalling 25,500 pounds resulted as increases for Vietnam (1,500 pounds), were more then offset by decreases for Italy (16,300 pounds), China (6,100 pounds) and South Korea (3,900 pounds). Exports of 776,300 pounds were mainly for China (470,200 pounds) and South Korea (176,000 pounds).
