US export sales for week ending 29.04.10

Hides and Skins: Net sales of 423,400 pieces were reported for delivery in 2010, down 2 percent from the previous week and 11 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 423,600 pieces were mainly for China (143,900 pieces), South Korea (135,700 pieces), Taiwan (76,100 pieces), Hong Kong (26,500 pieces), and Mexico (15,100 pieces). Exports of 418,700 pieces were down 12 percent from the previous week and 11 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 414,600 pieces were primarily to China (186,200 pieces), South Korea (77,200 pieces), Taiwan (54,400 pieces), Thailand (26,400 pieces), Mexico (18,600 pieces), and Vietnam (17,300 pieces).

Net sales of 103,400 wet blues for delivery in 2010 were down 39 percent from the previous week and 26 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were China (76,300 unsplit), Mexico (17,600 grain splits), Hong Kong (4,800 unsplit), and Thailand (2,800 unsplit). Decreases were reported for Taiwan (2,400 unsplit), Italy (500 grain splits), and Japan (400 grain splits). Exports of 125,100 hides were primarily for China (39,700 unsplit), Mexico (20,500 grain splits and 3,200 unsplit), Italy (15,800 unsplit and 1,200 grain splits), and Taiwan (8,900 unsplit). Net sales of splits totaling 356,500 pounds were reported mainly for Italy (267,100 pounds) and Hong Kong (44,300 pounds). Exports of 553,700 pounds were for China (424,900 pounds), Italy (84,500 pounds), and Hong Kong (44,300 pounds).
