Hides and Skins: Net sales of 430,600 pieces, all whole cattle hides, were reported for delivery in 2010, up four percent from the previous week, but down seven percent from the prior four-week average.  The primary buyers were China (196,500 pieces), South Korea (97,400 pieces), Hong Kong (48,100 pieces), Mexico (35,900 pieces), and Taiwan (17,700 pieces). Exports of 477,700 pieces were down seven percent from the previous week, but up 8 percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 471,900 pieces were primarily to China (215,700 pieces), South Korea (102,500 pieces), Taiwan (58,700 pieces), Vietnam (23,700 pieces), Hong Kong (19,300 pieces) and Mexico (19,300 pieces). 

Net sales of 168,600 wet blues for delivery in 2010 were down eight percent from the previous week, but up 12 percent from the prior four-week average. The primary buyers were China (66,400 unsplit and 2,200 grain splits), Japan (28,000 grain splits), Mexico (24,300 grain splits and 500 unsplit) and the Dominican Republic (22,700 unsplit and 1,100 grain splits). Decreases were reported for Thailand (700 unsplit) and Hong Kong (600 grain splits). Exports of 153,800 hides were primarily for China (46,800 unsplit), Taiwan (25,600 unsplit), Mexico (16,400 grain splits and 4,100 unsplits), and Italy (15,600 unsplit and 1,900 grain splits).  Net sales of splits totalling 177,700 pounds reported for South Korea (132,500 pounds) and Italy (120,400 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for China (75,200 pounds). Exports of 426,800 pounds were for China (257,100 pounds) and Italy (169,700 pounds).
