Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 582,300 pieces, all whole cattle hides, were reported for delivery in 2010, up 49 percent from the previous week and 55 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary buyers were China (257,500 pieces), South Korea (123,900 pieces), Taiwan (90,200 pieces), Thailand (35,300 pieces), and Hong Kong (14,200 pieces).  Exports of 512,600 pieces were up 10 percent from the previous week and 18 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 505,800 pieces were primarily to China (241,600 pieces), South Korea (112,200 pieces), Taiwan (47,700 pieces), Vietnam (33,700 pieces), Mexico (16,600 pieces), and Thailand (16,500 pieces).

Net sales of 104,200 wet blues for delivery in 2010 were up 34 percent from the previous week, but down 24 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary buyers were Mexico (22,100 grain splits and 300 unsplit), Taiwan (18,600 unsplit), China (17,800 unsplit and 100 grain splits), and Italy (13,300 unsplit).  Exports of 131,200 hides were primarily for China (50,800 unsplit and 1,600 grain splits), Italy (30,500 unsplit), Mexico (12,700 grain splits and 5,700 unsplit), and Hong Kong (10,600 grain splits).  Net sales of splits totaling 250,600 pounds were primarily for China (217,400 pounds), Taiwan (35,900 pounds), and Italy (9,600 pounds).  Decreases were reported for South Korea (14,000 pounds).  Exports of 879,200 pounds were mainly to China (556,600 pounds) and Hong Kong (143,000 pounds).
