Hides and Skins: Net sales of 532,000 pieces, all whole cattle hides, were up 69 percent from the previous week and 95 percent from the prior four-week average. The primary buyers were China (300,700 pieces), South Korea (97,700 pieces), Thailand (35,200 pieces), Vietnam (21,400 pieces) and Italy (20,900 pieces). Exports of 423,500 pieces were up 9 percent from the previous week, but down two percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 421,600 pieces were primarily to China (231,700 pieces), South Korea (57,200 pieces), Taiwan (37,500 pieces), Vietnam (23,000 pieces), Mexico (18,000 pieces) and Hong Kong (16,800 pieces). 

Net sales of 120,000 wet blues were up 45 percent from the previous week and 36 percent from the prior four-week average. The primary buyers were China (36,100 unsplit), Mexico (27,900 grain splits and 3,600 unsplit), Italy (22,100 unsplit and 1,800 grain splits) and Taiwan (14,100 unsplit). Exports of 95,600 hides were down 11 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior four-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (23,500 unsplit), Mexico (19,500 grain splits and 1,800 unsplit), China (14,000 unsplit and 3,900 grain splits) and Taiwan (16,900 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 586,500 pounds were for South Korea (382,300 pounds) and China (204,100 pounds). Exports of 987,300 pounds were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior four-week average. The destinations were China (527,700 pounds), South Korea (359,600 pounds) and Indonesia (100,000 pounds).
