Hides and Skins: Net sales of 612,800 pieces were up 21 percent from the previous week, but down 15 percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 608,400 pieces were primarily for China (279,400 pieces), South Korea (230,800 pieces), Thailand (50,400 pieces), Taiwan (36,000 pieces) and Japan (7,900 pieces). Decreases were reported for Hong Kong (7,900 pieces). Exports of 652,400 pieces were up 23 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 649,800 pieces—a marketing-year high—were primarily to China (376,900 pieces), South Korea (153,300 pieces), Taiwan (39,500 pieces), Mexico (25,100 pieces), Hong Kong (17,600 pieces) and Vietnam (12,500 pieces). 

Net sales of 65,600 wet blues were down 62 percent from the previous week and 59 percent from the prior four-week average. The primary destinations were China (26,800 unsplit and 4,100 grain splits), Mexico (25,700 grain splits and 200 unsplit), Vietnam (4,800 unsplit) and Taiwan (2,400 unsplit). Exports of 108,400 hides were down 27 percent from the previous week and three percent from the prior four-week average. The primary destinations were China (33,900 unsplit and 13,500 grain splits), Mexico (19,200 grain splits and 3,200 unsplit), Italy (21,100 unsplit) and Hong Kong (5,500 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 396,100 pounds were for Hong Kong (296,100 pounds) and China (100,000 pounds). Exports of 88,100 pounds were down 86 percent from the previous week and 81 percent from the prior four-week average. The destination was Hong Kong.
