Hides and Skins: Net sales of 662,000 pieces were down 24 percent from the previous week, but up 13 percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 646,100 pieces were primarily for China (303,900 pieces), South Korea (131,600 pieces), Taiwan (91,100 pieces), Thailand (64,300 pieces) and Hong Kong (23,900 pieces). Exports of 562,000 pieces were down one percent from the previous week, but up nine percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 557,000 pieces were primarily to China (279,000 pieces), South Korea (154,400 pieces), Taiwan (40,600 pieces), Hong Kong (23,700 pieces), Japan (18,200 pieces) and Mexico (17,400 pieces). 

Net sales of 328,900 wet blues—a marketing-year high—were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior four-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (165,700 unsplit), China (79,800 unsplit and 60,900 grain splits), Thailand (18,800 unsplit) and Mexico (12,900 grain splits and 100 unsplit). Decreases were reported for Hong Kong (10,000 unsplit) and Taiwan (2,800 unsplit). Exports of 121,200 hides were up 58 percent from the previous week and 53 percent from the prior four-week average. The primary destinations were China (51,100 unsplit and 6,400 grain splits), Mexico (21,400 grain splits and 4,100 unsplit), Italy (17,900 unsplit) and Taiwan (7,100 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 138,300 pounds resulted as increases for Hong Kong (150,000 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for China (11,700 pounds). Exports of 358,300 pounds were down 13 percent from the previous week, but up seven percent from the prior four-week average.  The destinations were South Korea (270,000 pounds) and China (88,300 pounds).
