The ZDHC Foundation has published Version 4.0 of its Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL), introducing new chemical restrictions and updated guidance covering leather and footwear manufacturing.

Launched on October 29, the revised list adds 16 substances not previously covered by Version 3.1, including bisphenols, formaldehyde, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and certain UV absorbers. It also tightens existing restrictions on substances including alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEOs), chlorinated paraffins and certain organic solvents.
