Jimmy Choo contribution surprises Michael Kors

Luxury group Michael Kors achieved revenues of $1.2 billion in the first quarter of its business year, the three months ending June 30.

High-end footwear brand Jimmy Choo, which Michael Kors acquired at the end of 2017, contributed $172.7 million towards the total. The group said this was a higher figure for Jimmy Choo than it had been expecting.

Across the group, revenue was 8% higher than for the corresponding quarter last year

Income from operations was $215.2 million, including $16.1 million from Jimmy Choo; the total represents 44% growth year on year.
