Natuzzi continues cost-cutting measures
Italian leather sofa brand Natuzzi reported first-quarter 2026 net sales of €59.5 million, down from €78.1 million a year earlier, as it continues to address challenging market conditions.
As part of a crisis settlement procedure, the Chamber of Commerce has appointed Elbano de Nuccio as an independent expert. Natuzzi has also signed a letter of intent with a candidate for its chief executive position.
The company has reduced its Italian production footprint from five sites to two, while moving Natuzzi Editions production for the North American market from Italy to Romania.
Natuzzi said 120 employees have signed resignation agreements, while a binding offer has been received for the sale of an industrial operation that could involve 40 employees. The group is also reviewing its store network through disposals, closures and lease renegotiations.
Despite the restructuring, Natuzzi has opened 18 new stores this year, including a Natuzzi Italia store in Beijing.
Chairman and interim managing director Pasquale Natuzzi said the company is reducing its cost base and aligning its operations with current demand, while seeking growth in strategic and emerging markets.
