Low demand for double-face clothing brings tannery closures
29/01/2024
Commentators in Turkey have said an ongoing drop in demand for garments made from double-face sheepskin leather has caused the closure of tanneries there.
Leather manufacturers specialising in double-face have closed their doors at a number of tanning clusters in Turkey, including those at Corlu and Gonen.
Climate change, high prices and competition from textiles have been suggested as reasons for the drop in demand.
