Chloé Vertical provides digital traceability
The new collection, using 100% traceable leather, linen, silk and wool incorporates a digital ID in the form of a QR code allowing buyers to trace the provenance of each product.
All leather used in the collection is sourced from hides from French farms and tanned by Tannery Haas, who themselves hold the Entreprises du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV), a label set up by the French government to recognise companies “for the excellence of their traditional and industrial know-how”.
Whilst the QR code enables owners to trace their item from “field to the finished piece” it also provides access to a certificate of ownership giving care and repair information but allows for direct reselling through the Vestiaire Collective platform, helping to support pre-loved fashion and the promotion of transparency, accountability and circularity.
