A new edition of Leather Market Intelligence went live on the website on October 18. In our exclusive review of the leather industry pipeline this time, we find the disappointing suggestion that there are likely to be hard times ahead for most in the leather industry.

As previously, the report makes the point that the luxury sector continues to enjoy success; it is in a world of its own. For everyone else, however, the complicated geopolitical situation, ongoing restrictions on connecting effectively with customers and business partners in China, and the rise in costs mean times are tough.

At this time of year, demand for leather is usually at its strongest and production moves into top gear. There are too few indications of this happening at the moment for the mood to lift.
