Internal candidate named as new Alexander McQueen CEO
Luxury group Kering has announced that the chief executive of Alexendar McQueen, Emmanuel Gintzburger, is to leave the group “to pursue new professional challenges”.
His replacement will come from inside the group: Gianfilippo Testa will take up the role in May.
Mr Testa is currently the president of Gucci’s business in Europe and its global vice-president for retail. Between 2016 and 2019, he headed up the same brand’s business in China.
Before joining Gucci and Kering in 2016, Ginafilippo Testa worked at rival group LVMH, holding senior roles in Italy, Japan and Hong Kong for Fendi, having started his career at TAG Heuer.
Kering said Mr Testa’s priority in his new role will be to accelerate the expansion of Alexander McQueen to help the brand “tap its full potential”.
