Chief sustainability officer appointment at Richemont

Luxury group Richemont has appointed Dr Bérangère Ruchat as its chief sustainability officer; she took up the role on February 1. 

Richemont described Dr Ruchat as having “deep sustainability expertise” and a collaborative track record.

She joins after 12 years at Geneva-based chemicals group Firmenich, where, most recently, she served as senior vice-president for sustainability. Before that, she was director of partnerships at Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and led the Partners in Action Program at the United Nations System Staff College.

Bérangère Ruchat won acknowledgement from the World Business Council in 2016 in the Sustainable Development Leading Women Awards for her work in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In 2015, Ethical Corporation recognised her as Head of Sustainability of the Year.
