LVMH to recruit 8,000 artisans in 2022

During an event titled Show ME, the group committed to recruiting almost 8,000 artisans next year as part of its Métiers d’Excellence programme (“ME” stands for Métiers d’Excellence).
LVMH said that the event was an opportunity to spotlight its existing 80,000 employees of its 280 recognised Métiers d’Excellence.
Group chairman and chief executive, Bernard Arnault, delivered a speech, as did several others, including artistic director of women’s collections at Louis Vuitton, Nicolas Ghesquière, plus LVMH artisans, apprentices and what the organisation described as its “virtuosos”.
In her own address to those present, executive vice president of human resources and synergies at LVMH, Chantal Gaemperle, stated: “Nothing could be more essential to LVMH than the Métiers d’Excellence. The success of all our maisons is built on this living heritage.
“It is vitally important that we encourage a shift in perceptions among younger generations concerning these exceptional professions, because they are truly meaningful and because they are perfect avenues to build excellent careers.”
She added that the recruitment of more than 30,000 artisans is expected by the group between now and the end of 2024, including “about” 8,000 in 2022.
