Aeffe takes Moschino stake to 100%

Italian ready-to-wear manufacturer and distributor Aeffe, co-founded by designer Alberta Ferretti in 1976, has acquired another 30% of Milan-headquartered fashion and leathergoods label Moschino.

In addition to Moschino, existing Aeffe brands include Alberta Ferretti, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini and Pollini. Upon completion of the deal, worth around $80 million or €66.6 million, the group will take full ownership of Moschino.

Aeffe’s co-founder and executive chairman, Massimo Ferretti, commented: “With full control of the Moschino brand, we are now in the best position to manage all activities related to the brand’s value chain, from product to quality and with positive effects on image, distribution and communication.”

US designer Jeremy Scott has been creative director of Moschino since 2013.
