Lanxess and Novozymes to continue partnership

The companies have said they will continue to work together on existing enzyme solutions, as well as on developing new enzyme technologies “to enhance sustainable production concepts in the leather industry”.
Among the solutions they have previously developed is the X-Zyme process technology, an enzyme-based soaking and dehairing solution. It was created using enzymes that were selected through protein engineering and advanced robotic screening to obtain the desired characteristics.
Lanxess used its process know-how to ensure that these enzymes can be successfully employed under real-life beamhouse conditions.
