11/07/2017
Industry association Leather Industries of America (LIA) is to hold its 100th annual meeting and convention in Chicago in September.

The event will take place on September 27 and 28 in conjunction with the US Hide Skins and Leather Association (USHSLA), which, for its part, will be holding its 38th annual meeting.

Included in the agenda will be presentations that look at the past and at the future of the US leather industry. LIA president, John Wittenborn, will speak about the history of the industry in the US. His counterpart at USHSLA, Stephen Sothmann, will give a business report and trade update. There will also be panel discussion on the future of leather processing and another on future leather demand.
