Exports of leather garments and gloves increased in value too, reaching $621.5 million, a rise of 10.7%. Garments contributed more than $400 million of this total and gloves just over $200 million.

The country also exported 15.3 million pairs of shoes, with a value of  $118.7 million. In terms of value, leather shoes contributed more than 80% of the value. The volume increase for all types of footwear was of 16.9%.
