Bauce adds new seven-roller samm/setter model

Whereas throughfeed samm/setters until now worked with up to five pressure rollers, this new development functions with seven, exposing the hide to three separate pressure points as it passes through the machine. The seven-roller samm/setter is to be known as the Bluextreme.
As the sammying action is distributed over these three action points, the effect upon the hide is more gentle and “less stressful”, the company has said.
Output speed can be up to 30 metres per minute compared to about 25 metres per minute with five-roller machines. Another indication of the progress the new model represents is that a 75 kW electric motor drives it.
Separatlely, Bauce established a new Brazilian subsidiary company, Bauce do Brasil, at the Fimec exhibition in Novo Hamburgo in March.
