Luxury leathergoods and stationery retailer Smythson has been sold to new owners for the second time in five years.

The brand, which has its main store in London’s Bond Street, and 16 other outlets in the UK, Ireland, the US and Hong Kong, has been bought by Greenwill SA, the holding company for Italian leathergoods manufacturer Tivoli Group.

The Financial Times said that the selling price had been £18 million. Smythson’s annual sales in recent years have been in the region of £15 million and the company is profitable.
