For the period ending July 2 there were exports from the US of 337,000 whole cattle hides. The destinations were primarily China (137,600 pieces), Mexico (76,500 pieces) and Brazil (67,900 pieces).

There were also exports of 96,700 wet blue hides. The destinations in this case were primarily Vietnam (55,100), Thailand (28,500) and Italy (14,300).

The most recent reports on hide prices have shown butt-branded steers weighing 62–64 pounds at $21, Colorado branded steers of the same weight priced at $16, and heavy Texas steers weighing 60–62 pounds up again at $13 per piece. Cow hide prices were unchanged, with northern dairy cows at $8.50, south-west dairy cows at $8, northern branded cows at $2 and south-west branded cows at $1.50, with weights of 50–52 pounds in each case.
