Batista brothers back at work after another JBS twist

On September 14, the company announced that legal authorities in Brazil had agreed to lift the ban on Wesley Mendonça Batista and Joesley Mendonça Batista from holding these senior positions at the company. A judge banned them on September 5 from maintaining their involvement in the running of the company following an investigation into alleged pensions fraud.
A court in Brasilia agreed to lift the ban after JBS’s parent company, J&F Investimentos, provided prosecutors with “an insured surety” as part of the terms of the agreement. The board of JBS immediately held a meeting and approved the Batista brothers’ return to their positions.
