JBS Couros, the leather division of Brazilian packer firm JBS, has confirmed to leatherbiz.com the direction in which its deal with Italian tannery Conceria Priante is headed.

On February 6, JBS Couros announced a new agreement with Arzignano-based Conceria Priante, saying that it would now use the Priante name as its “luxury brand” in the international upholstery and high-end leathergoods markets.

“The agreement will be a milestone generating numerous synergies between Priante and JBS,” the companies said in a statement.

In response to follow-up questions from leatherbiz, JBS Couros has added: “This is a commercial agreement which needs to follow some legal steps, but after its conclusion, it will lead to the aquisition of Conceria Priante by JBS Couros.”
