Slowdown for China’s car market

Growth in China's auto market will could decline to 7% this year, compared with 15% last year, according to the Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

However, despite the slowdown, its secretary general, Dong Yang, said there was no need for concern: “The economy is slowing. The auto industry would reflect that but typically lags the economic cycle by a bit."

During the first nine months of the year, vehicle sales in China rose 7% compared with the same period last year. In 2012-13, the market grew 15%.
