Gucci uses heavy-metal-free leather in new bags
24/07/2013
A statement from Gucci’s parent group, Kering, said the leather used plant-based tanning agents and allowed Blutonic to make leather that is free from heavy metals, while also eliminating metals from its tannery waste.
Kering said Gucci was already using the new leather in a collection of bags called Bamboo, which will reach retail outlets before the end of 2013. It suggested that other leathergoods ranges would also incorporate the new Blutonic leather in the near future.
