Clariant puts leather chemicals unit up for sale
15/11/2012
The Swiss company put the leather chemicals and detergents and intermediates business units under review in March – and will now begin the sale in the first quarter of next year.
“It’s a good business, but it doesn’t match the requirements we have set ourselves,” said Kai Rolker, a spokesman for the Swiss company.
The unit had revenues of $280.4 million last year but is being sold so the company can focus on less cyclical businesses such as chemicals for the mining and oil industries, it said.
In August it announced it was selling its paper, textile and emulsions chemicals units.
